The Art of Sandra Bowden - edited by James Romaine

The Art of Sandra Bowden is a beautiful visual record of Bowden's amazing personal and spiritual journey of more than forty years through the veiled mysteries that lead us to belief. Rooted in her faith, as well as the varied long and rich Judeo-Christian tradition in the visual arts, her work explores the systems and limits of textual and visual languages as vehicles of communication and meaning. Bowden's voice is a vital and clear statement of conviction within the often-baffling clamor of our image-driven culture; her art is evidence that faith is alive in our time. An excerpt from this book is available in pdf format

"Sandra Bowden's art invites meditation which evokes and inspires the fullness of mind, heart, soul and strength to form more faithful biblical character in the viewer. Her works are classics in their ability to communicate beyond her time and place to other persons of different ages, races, classes, and religious traditions." —Dr. Doug Adams, Professor of Christianity and the Arts, Pacific School of Religion and the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, California.
