Women At The Tomb
Very early in the morning on the first day of the week, the women came to anoint Jesus' body with spices. They encountered an angel who said, "He is not here, He is risen! Go, tell His disciples." So they went out quickly from the tomb.
All four gospel writers tell of the women at the empty tomb, the encounter with the angel and his instruction to tell the disciples. They wanted us to be in no doubt that Jesus really did rise from the dead!
